| In China, many families want their children to work in stable jobs because under the Chinese system, some stable jobs such as elementary school teachers, civil servants, bank tellers, etc. can protect their rights and interests forever, only that the job content will be a bit boring and the salary is fixed until retirement. Many Chinese children are forced to accept this arrangement. Because in the eyes of many people, change represents instability, and instability means taking risks. Such thinking affects not only job choices, but also hobbies, marriage, life and more. Yet when does change ever really stop in our lives? Whether we want to accept this fact or not. Adapting to change, and even enjoying it, may lead to more opportunities and growth for us. I was inspired by the mold in my life; I was born in the humid South where the sweltering seasons allow mold to slowly grow. We can never predict when the food in our house will become moldy, and the types and shapes of mold are also unpredictable. The irregularity, unpredictability, and multiplicity of mold is like the changes in life. The only constant in life is that everything changes, and wherever people are, change is there. The more you try to break free from this change in life, the more life changes, and its trajectory continues to change indefinitely, and since we can't stop this change, let's enjoy it. The project maps from the unpredictability of mold growth to the changeability of life and humanity, both of which never stop changing as products of time and life. This project conveys the sense of change and unpredictability through a variety of mediums including visual elements such as images and lines, typography, and digitized interactive images. It also utilizes gestural dynamic effects to present the process of mold growth and change, engaging the user and conveying the theme of the passage of time and life, change and uncertainty, triggering the audience to think deeply about life and time and about their personal pursuits. |
