| People generally believe they are mostly rational in their thinking, decisions, and actions. However, modern science has uncovered a vast array of cognitive biases that influence our judgments and decisions, usually beneath our conscious awareness. This project aims to explore the bias that affects us all in the most imperceptible and omnipresent manner – the confirmation bias. "Confirmation bias, as the term is typically used in the psychological literature, connotes the seeking or interpreting of evidence in ways that are partial to existing beliefs, expectations, or a hypothesis in hand". R. S. Nickerson In two outcomes – an experimental film and a set of postcards – this project explores the psychology behind conspiracy theories, revealing how our brains shape, and sometimes distort, our understanding of reality. |
