| This project explores the emotional and psychological pressures within the Chinese education system, focusing on the experiences of both students and teachers. With a research question centred on how visual communication can highlight and address these challenges, the project seeks to reveal the hidden struggles and contradictions caused by exam-oriented policies. The rationale for this study stems from a growing recognition of the detrimental effects of these pressures. Reports indicate that over 70% of Chinese students experience significant academic stress, with rising concerns about mental health. While educational reforms have been proposed, the lived experiences of students and teachers remain under-represented, creating a critical gap that this project seeks to address. |
