| The idea of a nation's identity is heavily based on its language and cultural living. India is now at a stage where even major languages are suffering loss. Indians are no longer connected to their mother tongues and are busy learning and shifting to English. In the name of global development, people are losing their language heritage, owing to 'Partial Language Acquisition.' Hindi for me, is in a state of decay. It has stopped growing and developing. Its adoption in education is not desired, its literature is kept aside and has little to no value in the scientific world. You are considered uneducated if you are a monolingual Hindi speaker. And then there is the rise of Hinglish. The project takes a critical and outspoken stance on the negative impact of Hinglish and English on Hindi, but only in context. This project visualises the issue and gives it an image for it to materialise and be present in the physical world, for the audience to take it away with them. |
